Chasteuil is a tiny 16th century hamlet located at the entrance of the Gorges du Verdon. From its south-facing location, 900 meters high in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, it overlooks the Verdon River below. "Les Gorges du Verdon", The Verdon Canyon, is one of the deepest and most spectacular in Europe. The hamlet has been restored by its inhabitants in the local architectural tradition. They appreciate the quiet and beautiful surroundings and practice various crafts, such as pottery, wood and stone sculpture, bee keeping, and farming.
